About Takamine bass guitars
The Takamine B-10 fretless bass has
been turning heads in the United States since early last year. The 34"
acoustic-electric, all maple body instrument is designed to be played
sitting down or as an upright using the retractable post. Either way,
with the DSP preamp and all of the hand carved features, this is a professional
player's choice.
Imagine, for a moment, what it would
be like to own a custom-made acoustic guitar. One that reflects your musical
sensibilities. An instrument that actually enhances your sound and unique
playing style. A guitar you never want to put down. Well, that's precisely
what it's like to own a Takamine Natural Series guitar. By definition,
"natural" means produced or existing in nature. Nothing artificial.
An exacting description of what our master craftsmen have accomplished.
Entirely handmade in the finest tradition
of European and North American luthiery, the Natural Series' aesthetic
simplicity is nothing short of visually arresting. There are no pick guards.
No overly ornate fingerboard inlays. Instead, Takamine artisans chose
to enhance the open, vintage sound of these instruments with varying degrees
of rosette elegance - precision cut with laser technology. All of which
can be witnessed in four body styles (Dreadnought, NEX, Jumbo and Country
Classic), with timbre-matched combinations of select woods on the tops,
backs and sides. And what woods they are. Striking Silky Oak. Rare Koa.
Mahogany. Rosewood. Solid Cedar. Solid Spruce. All, in a non sound-inhibiting
natural satin finish. Nothing less could adorn these special instruments.
Pete Townshend. Bruce Springsteen. Glenn
Frey. Steve Wariner. If anyone could afford a custom-built, handmade
guitar, these artists could. And their instruments of choice are Takamine
acoustic/electric guitars. Why? Perhaps it's the attention to detail given
to every Takamine guitar. Or it just that maybe Takamine's significant
investment on new laser technology, in combination with traditional handmade
craftsmanship, that results in more precise, better sounding guitars-
on stage, and in the studio.
The Takamine slogan is "Think Acoustic...Live
Electric." Though they are first and foremost acoustic guitar
makers, an unbridled passion to achieve the perfect acoustic sound when
amplified has led to the development of truly remarkable electronics.
Two varieties are available with the Natural Series. Our Graph EX and
our top-of-the-line Accuracoustic pre-amp, which features a palathetic
pickup, and bass and treble shelving EQ sliders capable of producing a
variety of natural-sounding tonal variations. But then again, would you
expect anything else from the Natural Series?
